A suit that fits properly looks like a different suit. Most off-the-peg jackets and trousers are close but not right, and the difference between close and right is usually an hour of a tailor's time.

We alter suits and occasion wear on site in Summertown, with fittings in our own changing room. No appointment needed — just come in during opening hours.

What we do: jacket sleeves shortened or lengthened, from the cuff or the shoulder; jacket body taken in at the side seams and centre back; shoulders adjusted; trousers shortened, tapered, waist let out or taken in; waistcoats refitted; linings and pockets repaired or replaced; buttons and buttonholes. We also alter formal wear, occasion dresses and prom dresses.

How long it takes

Most alterations are finished within a week, and we can often be quicker. If you need something sooner, we offer a paid express service — same day or next day, depending on the job. Tell us your deadline when you come in and we will tell you honestly whether we can meet it.

Before you come in

Bring the shoes you will wear with the trousers and the shirt you will wear under the jacket — they change the fit more than people expect. If the suit is for a fixed date, tell us the date when you come in. No appointment is needed; one of our tailors will pin the garment on you in our changing room and quote the job before we start.
